What started as a senior project for my Bachelor of Arts in Web Design degree, quickly turned into a project full of passion. The photography field is highly saturated and competitive, and I'm constantly looking for ways to stand out in order to attract more clients.
The Photography Monthly is an interactive, educational and unique portfolio experience showcasing Rebecca Mehling Photography, and The Pawtography. Clients can flip through this physical magazine to discover fun facts about cameras, learn more about the person behind the lens and even work through a word search and crossword puzzle.
My vision for this magazine was straight-forward. I wanted a simple design that was easy for anyone to flip through and read. With a wide range of clients, the magazine needed to capture the attention of multiple generations. I started with rough sketches. Then utilizing InDesign, turned those sketches into a digital layout. From there, I wrote my own articles, laid out photos and created new content as needed to bring my vision to life.
